20-Wind

Chaffee County’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy 20
Wind

As indicated on the wind resource map, most of the land in Chaffee County is rated as ‚"marginal" for wind power generation. The notable exceptions are associated with the high mountain ranges, particularly

along the Continental Divide. Virtually all of this land is owned by the federal government and is either off limits or not feasible for wind energy development. One noteworthy possibility for wind development is the Monarch Pass area.
